Vintage & Shabby Chic Scrapbook Papers
There is just something about vintage papers that makes them fun to work with. Faded colors, old handwriting, worn florals, delicate lace, aged paper and little details that look like they might have been tucked away in a drawer for years all give a project a little more character.
This collection of free Vintage & Shabby Chic scrapbook papers brings together some of those softer, timeworn styles. You may find faded florals, old letters and postcards, antique-inspired backgrounds, soft pinks and creams, muted greens and blues, vintage botanical designs and papers with that slightly imperfect look I love.
Vintage Papers With a Softer Side
Not every vintage design has to be dark brown or heavily distressed. I especially like the softer side of vintage - the pale colors, faded roses, handwritten script, old-fashioned ribbons and lace, and backgrounds that look aged without looking dirty or overly grungy.
Shabby chic fits right in with that style. It can be romantic and feminine, but it can also be simple and rustic. A faded wood background, an old postcard, a bundle of flowers tied with ribbon or a piece of delicate lace can completely change the look of a scrapbook page.
Mix, Match and Layer
One of the things I like most about vintage style papers is how easily they can be mixed together. A floral paper can be layered with a faded solid, a subtle script background or an old-fashioned pattern without everything needing to match perfectly.
Use them for traditional scrapbook layouts, junk journals, digital journals, memory books, handmade cards, printable crafts or wherever you need a softer vintage background.
You can also combine these papers with the transparent Digital Elements on the site to add flowers, ribbons, strings, lace and other little details without covering up the paper underneath.
Free Vintage & Shabby Chic Papers
The papers in this category are free to download and use in your own creative projects. I’ll continue adding new designs as I make them, so this section will probably become a bit of a mix and with vintage and shabby chic, I think that works rather well.
Browse through the papers, download the ones you like and mix them together to create something completely your own.
