About Boutique Scrapbook Papers

Welcome to Boutique Scrapbook Papers, my little corner of the web for pretty papers, creative ideas, and one of my longtime favorite hobbies - scrapbooking.

I’m an avid scrapbooker and love both traditional, hands-on scrapbooking and digital scrapbooking. Over the years, I’ve accumulated a rather impressive stash of papers, embellishments, backgrounds, elements, and all those little extras that scrapbookers somehow convince themselves they absolutely need.

If you scrapbook, you probably know exactly what I mean.

Along the way, I also started creating digital papers and designs for my own projects. Sometimes I wanted a certain color, pattern, texture, or style and couldn't find quite what I had pictured in my head, so I made it myself.

Boutique Scrapbook Papers grew from those creations. These are some of the papers I might otherwise have made just for my own scrapbook stash, and now I get to share them with you.

From My Scrapbook Stash to Yours

Finding the right paper is half the fun of putting a page together.

I love playing with colors, patterns, textures, florals, watercolor effects, vintage-inspired designs, and coordinating backgrounds. Some collections may be soft and romantic, others bright and playful, and some may be a little quirky or whimsical.

My own scrapbooking style changes depending on what I'm creating, so you'll probably notice the collections here doing the same.

Rather than creating one paper at a time, I especially enjoy putting together coordinating collections. That gives you several designs that work beautifully together while still leaving plenty of room to mix in photographs, journaling, embellishments, and pieces from your own digital stash.

Not Just for Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking may be at the heart of Boutique, but scrapbook paper doesn't have to stay on a scrapbook page.

These digital papers can also be fun for digital journals, memory books, cards, invitations, photo collages, planners, creative backgrounds, and all sorts of other personal digital projects.

You might use an entire coordinating collection or simply grab that one paper that makes you think, Yep, that's the one.

Sometimes a pretty piece of paper inspires the project instead of the other way around.

Creating the Collections

One of my favorite parts of creating a collection is seeing it come together.

I usually like a mixture of decorative papers and simpler coordinating designs. The busier papers can add personality, while the quieter ones leave room for photographs, journaling, quotes, and embellishments without everything competing for attention.

Some collections will be larger than others, and I may release more than one around the same time. There isn't a rigid release schedule around here. I prefer to think of them as little creative drops - when I have something I love and it's ready to share, you'll find it here.

I use a mixture of digital creative tools in my design process. I then review, choose, edit, coordinate, and prepare the papers that become part of the finished collections you see on Boutique.

You can browse the individual papers in a collection, find your favorites, and download the complete set when you discover one you love. The papers within each collection are designed to coordinate, so much of the mixing and matching has already been done for you.

Made for the Joy of Creating

For me, scrapbooking has always been about more than putting photographs on pretty paper. It's about remembering a moment, telling a story, playing with colors and textures, and simply enjoying the process of making something.

Sometimes there's a special memory to preserve. Sometimes there's a card to create or a digital journal page waiting to be filled.

And sometimes you just really, really like the paper.

That's what Boutique Scrapbook Papers is all about - sharing some of the papers I've created, adding a few more goodies to your digital stash, and hopefully giving you a little inspiration for whatever you decide to make next.
